Zimbabwe Casinos

[ English ]

The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a risk at the current time, so you might imagine that there might be little affinity for visiting Zimbabwe’s casinos. In fact, it seems to be working the other way, with the critical economic conditions leading to a greater eagerness to gamble, to try and discover a quick win, a way from the problems.

For nearly all of the people living on the abysmal local earnings, there are 2 popular styles of gaming, the state lotto and Zimbet. Just as with practically everywhere else on the planet, there is a state lottery where the chances of winning are unbelievably small, but then the winnings are also very large. It’s been said by market analysts who understand the situation that the lion’s share do not buy a card with a real expectation of winning. Zimbet is centered on one of the local or the British football leagues and involves predicting the outcomes of future matches.

Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other shoe, cater to the extremely rich of the society and vacationers. Up till not long ago, there was a considerably substantial sightseeing industry, founded on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The market collapse and connected bloodshed have cut into this market.

Among Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and one armed bandits, and the Plumtree Casino, which has just the slots. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just one armed bandits. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer table games, slots and video machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, both of which offer gaming machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling dens and the aforestated mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a pools system), there is a total of two horse racing tracks in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second metropolis) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Given that the market has shrunk by more than 40% in recent years and with the associated deprivation and crime that has arisen, it isn’t well-known how healthy the tourist industry which supports Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the in the years to come. How many of the casinos will carry through till things improve is basically not known.
