In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and 4 dining rooms. There are numerous other dominant Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa riverboat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is available 24 hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot water based casino in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday blackjack tournaments.
Iowa casinos provide a great deal of tax money to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the bankrolling of many commonwealth wide activities. Tourism has increased at an accelerated percentage along with the request for companies and an increase in employment. Iowa gambling dens have contributed to the advancement of the economy, and the affection for gaming in Iowa is absolute.
