There are a few casinos in the commonwealth, most on stationary river boats. The grandest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of casino space, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, like twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; as well as three restaurants, biweekly productions, and gaming instructions. An additional big Native American casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are numerous other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A tinier Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a riverboat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Another Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot paddle wheel boat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday twenty-one tournaments.
Iowa casinos present an excellent deal of tax revenue to the state of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of a good many commonwealth wide activities. Visitors have increased at a rapid rate along with the request for companies and a growth in jobs. Iowa gambling dens have been instrumental to the advancement of the market, and the affection for gambling in Iowa is absolute.
