Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is not permitted. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime location, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently required to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel building that contains a number of conveniences accompanying the gambling hall, which offers ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
